First, we need to understand that there can be three types of outsourcing:
onshore
offshore
nearshore.
On one hand, onshore is the type of outsourcing that is located in the same country or region as the company. This category is also called “local outsourcing” because it does not incur in language, cultural, or time zones differences, but sometimes can be more expensive than the other types.
On the other hand, offshore outsourcing is when a company hires another one in a different country with a different time zone. This type of outsourcing might be the kind of business that brings support at a lower cost. However, there is a time zone difference which can become an issue where there is also a change in the working culture of the companies.
Finally, we have the nearshore outsourcing where the company hires another company from a neighboring country. This type of outsourcing comes between the other two types aforementioned and brings the benefits from both of them. There might be a minor difference in culture depending on the country that you choose, but that can lead to a transfer of knowledge as they position themselves in a diverse country. This option allows you to save more money compared to the one onshore and the time zone differences decrease.
At the heart of the Americas, is located Costa Rica, a small country full of possibilities and a well educated and tech savvy workforce. Furthermore, our country shares borders with Nicaragua and Panama, as well as both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Taking into account those details, Costa Rica is a great choice for nearshoring as not only can become an ideal friendshore destination for different countries, but can bring connections with many more countries.
