Costa Rica: A Country of Digital technologies

Digital technologies are electronic tools, systems, devices and resources that generate, store or process data such as social media, online games, multimedia and mobile phones. That is why the need for a digital transformation has influenced all types of businesses that analyze and carry data so they can find better information and opportunities.

There are a lot of benefits to these technologies. As we encounter a more digitalized society, companies that utilize and work with different technologies can improve their way of creating business. That is why, according to Forbes (2019) 70% of companies have a digital transformation strategy in place or are working on one, while 21% already have one.

On another hand, having a digital transformation can create greater innovation, continue the relevancy of the company, improve the customer engagement, increase efficiency, productivity, and revenues while handling a better resource management. In fact, 89% of all companies have already adopted a digital-first business strategy or plan to do so, and the top industries for digital-first business strategies are services and financial services (Forbes, 2019)

One example of digital technologies is Software Development. Because technology evolves everyday, there is a need to have software with differentiation and performance in technologies like smartphones and computers. Another example is IT Services, since digital transformations need higher-order IT capabilities and strategic partnerships that can provide critical knowledge and expertise along with new technologies and support services.

Costa Rica is a country that can serve as a strong partner to drive digitalization. Not only that, but we also connect and respond to fast-evolving customer demands. Currently, our country exports double of the OECD countries ratio in services, and is the home of 16 of the top 100 companies in IT globally such as Microsoft, IBM, and Amazon. In Latin America, we are the third exporter of High-Technology. Digitalization and transformation is present everyday in Costa Rican industries, therefore making it a great provider choice of IT infrastructure and solutions.
